A Swedish healthcare company has been hired to run two hospitals...

15 September 2015

The Medical Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Sweden's GHP Specialty Care have signed a five-year agreement for management and operation of the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Ajman, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Masfout and the Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research (RCDR), news agency WAM reported.

The agreement covers the management and operation of the two hospitals - which include general, emergency, women’s and children’s divisions - and a diabetes centre, which is currently operated by GHP.

The Medical Office said it received offers from some of the most well-known health care organisations in the world for the contract, but chose GHP in light of their "excellent high-quality management" of Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research.

GHP runs and operates 18 clinics in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
